THE ORGANIZATION OF TURKIC STATES

Since the Olympiad is held in the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, where the majority are Turkic states, we consider it useful to present an article about the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Motto of the Organization: Cooperation. Development. Unity.

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is an international body whose main goal is to strengthen peace and stability, expand political and economic cooperation, and develop the potential of member states based on their common Turkic historical and cultural heritage.

The OTS acts as a bridge among Turkic-speaking countries, promoting deeper regional integration and international partnership.

Strategic Vision: “Turkic World – 2040”

In 2021, at the Summit of Heads of State in Istanbul, the strategic document “Vision of the Turkic World – 2040” was adopted.

It defines the long-term priorities for the development of the OTS, including:

  • political and security cooperation,
  • strengthening economic and sectoral ties,
  • expanding humanitarian and educational exchanges,
  • interaction with international organizations.

The purpose of the document is to create a foundation for the sustainable individual and collective development of the member states in the face of global challenges of the 21st century.

Transport and Logistics Project: “Middle Corridor” / Trans-Caspian Route

One of the key infrastructure projects of the OTS is the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor (Middle Corridor) — an international route connecting Central Asia with Europe through the Caspian Sea.

The cargo transport potential from Kazakhstan alone via this route is estimated at more than 4 million tons per year.

Given the changes in global supply chains, this route is becoming an alternative and strategically significant option for the participating states.

This transport corridor not only strengthens mutual trade but also increases the geo-economic significance of the Turkic states on the international stage.

Conclusion

The Organization of Turkic States is a rapidly developing international platform aimed at strengthening fraternal ties, promoting joint development, and forming a unified political and economic space.

Given the growing role of the Turkic world in global processes, the activities of the OTS are becoming increasingly relevant and strategically significant.
